River Winter Steelhead Flyfishing Schools ======================================================================= Welcome to our Fifth annual Skykomish River Steelhead Flyfishing School! A
background: Golf & Fishing. Our schools have revolutionized the Flyschool concept, because it's demonstrated where it belongs......on the water. Please consider: Each class of anglers will float the Skykomish River from the town of Sultan to Monroe. Students will learn the key elements of defining a flyfishing steelhead pool. Members will learn the "Sweet water," as you will stop at each holding pool along the way. Dennis and his two guides will point out the waters that have consistently held fish year in and year out, how to recognize a new piece of water and how to tell when the river has changed your best pool, into a waste of time. Learn steelhead migratory patterns, including what constitutes a "High Water Lie" and how to catch steelhead when the shops are telling everyone the river is out! Anglers will take turns on the four pontoon rafts provided, as you develop the simple skills of the boat, which has revolutionized the market. Nonrowers are welcome to guide in a guide raft. (Mention preference) Dennis will show you his highly effective flyline system, while you learn not only, what flylines to fish, but how to fish his "Grease line Steelhead Swing." Nobody disagrees with the fact that Dennis' methods catch fish! Students can fine tune or learn their cast skills as well as demo the Yancy Line system which has revolutionized single handed casting for cold water steelhead. Remember, Dennis & guides have made a living putting first time anglers into steelhead. No other multi-tip line system does what the Yancy does. (They demo the Rio & Airflow lines, in class for comparison). Anglers will learn three simple knots that cover everything from replacing a tippet to constructing a steelhead leader. Dennis will demonstrate the fly tying of two of his deadliest winter steelheading patterns, Black Bart and the Cop Car. How to buy or build a fly that swims with the action to catch steelhead. One day class: approximately 8 to 10 hours on the water. These are single day Flyfishing Schools What to bring: Waders, notebook, rod (some provided but ask), licenses, water, and enthusiasm! Cost: $150/ angler Reservations:
