Winter Steelhead Flyfishing School

I know you. You have visited the shops, read the books, and seen the videos. Every time you walk off the river pool, you are still wondering whether it is just you, or is there just no steelhead in the river. I know, because Mike and I fish anglers like you......every day.

Not just another school: After spending the last twenty years, as a Fisheries Biologist and Flyfishing Guide, Dennis Dickson and his son Mike offer an innovative approach to flyfishing steelhead. Please refer to the References & Endorsements of some of the many anglers who have taken ours classes.

Consider:

Each class of anglers will float the Skykomish River from the town of Sultan to Monroe. Students will not only learn how to read steelhead water, but how to present an effective fly. Anglers will learn the "Sweet water," as you will stop at each holding pool along the way, as Dennis & Mike will point out the waters that have consistently held fish year in and year out, how to recognize a new piece of water and how to tell when the river has changed your best pool, into a waste of time. Learn steelhead migratory patterns, including what constitutes a "High Water Lie" and how to catch steelhead when the shops are telling everyone the river is out!

Students will travel in pontoon rafts provided, as you develop the simple skills of the boat, which has revolutionized the flyfishing market. Not so adventurous? Ride in the expedition raft with Mike. Conservation and river etiquette is a vital element of the schools.

Dickson boys will show you their highly effective Yancy Multi-tip flyline system, while you learn not only, what flylines to fish, but how to fish the "Grease line Steelhead Swing." Nobody disagrees with the fact that the Dickson techniques catch fish! Mike and Dennis will have outfitted rods for you to try.

Students can fine tune or learn the skills of the "Six Gun Approach to Flyfishing, as demonstrated with the now popular Floating Line head System, as well as the Spey Cast and Modified Spey, used in the Yancy multi-tip system." Remember, these boys has made their living putting first time anglers into steelhead.

Anglers will learn three simple knots that cover everything from replacing a tippet to constructing a steelhead leader.

Mike will demo all of their deadliest winter steelheading patterns, including Black Bart, Big Bruise and the Cop Car. How to buy or build a fly that swims with the action to catch steelhead. Did I mention anglers are automatically qualify for the "Members Only" page found at Streamsideflyshop.com?

Come on, it's time to take the mystery out of steelhead.
