Dickson's Stilly SearunCutthroat - Deer Creek Native steelhead
-Flyfishing School-

Now Booking for 2006
Sept 8 or 9

A successful student

Come spend a day on America's very first designated flyfishing waters. Fished by angling greats such as Zane Grey and Roderick Haig-Brown, the North Fork of the Stillaguamish, is home of the legendary wild Deer Creek summer steelhead. A wonderful bonus and a prime fishery in his own rite, is the coastal Searun Cutthroat.

Dennis has flyfished these waters since a boy. Many of the articles and stories found on this site, are based around his North Fork Stilly
experiences over the past 30 years, as a biologist, guide, and flyfisher. This September flyfishing school is great primer to take advantage of both the fall returning, Deer Creek steelhead, and Searun Cutthroat.

Anglers will explore floating line presentations, both surface and subsurface, as we fish such fabled waters as the Elbow hole, Hell Creek pool,
and the Deer Creek riffle. We will travel by pontoon rafts, while we wade and fish the many pools along this 8 mile float. Presentations will cover grease lining, riffle hitching, emerging nymphs, skaters and bombers and much much more. Anglers will learn the life history of both the steelhead and SRC, preferred holding waters, and how to effectively approach each of them. Surface flies are the rule for these fall returners! Dennis will teach you techniques that help you catch anadromous fish from Alaska to northern California.

Of course, anglers will be treated to a streamside lunch while Dennis demonstrate a couple of his pet summer fly patterns. Come spend a day, see what legends are made of
