Activities

These may vary a little according to the needs and interests of the group, and weather conditions.
1. Xcaret
There is a wide variety of things to do at Xcaret, though many people spend their day relaxing on the beach in the sunchairs, and swimming in the protected lagoon. There is an underground river you can swim, a butterfly pavillion, a spectacular night show, a turtle aquarium, and many more wildlife and fauna displays. We found this to be a beautiful spot, and a whole day experience.

2. Tulum Ruins
A must-see while you are here! It is very close to the townsite of Tulum, with wonderful ruins of an ancient 3-walled city high on a bluff. It is easy walking, and a must for picture taking. You do need to take your own refreshments with you, as none are available within the park itself. There is a lovely beach for sunbathing and swimming. This can be a one to two hour activity, or you can relax and spend the day.
3.Cozumel Island Worldclass Diving & Snorkeling

The Caribbean surrounding Cozumel is considered one the top five diving locations in the world. The ferry boat ride from Playa del Carmen is worth the adventure. Quaint shops, lovely beaches & (secluded bonefishing lagoons) are all reasons to come visit the lovely island of Cozumel.
4. The Ruins at Chichen Itza
These are 3-4 hours away, well worth seeing, but not necessarily a regular part of our
activities.
5. Xel-Ha
This is a wonderfully developed lagoon with a freshwater river flowing into the salt water. It offers great snorkelling, Eco Tours, dining, sunbathing, river floating, exploring cenotes, dolphin shows, a floating bridge, and much more. Plan on spending most of the day to enjoy and explore. Truly a wonderful adventure, well with it.
6. Eco- Tours
There are Eco Tours available in the Sian Ka'an Biopreserve where the fishing takes place, in the Boca Paila area. These are generally done in kayaks, with a local guide, and take most of the day. they show the highlights of the area and explain the local flora and waterways. Often wildlife can be observed, both in and out of the water. This area in Mexico has been set aside for preservation, and great conservation efforts are underway. It is very interesting, and what a way to get back to nature.

7. Shop Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen is a city caught in change. It was fashioned with a European flavor, and has slowly been modernizing and blending cultures. the most popular area is the 5th Street half mile of shops. You will find Mexican crafts, and a broad assortment of art and souveniers. Thee are world class restaurants and entertainment available. This is a very busy area, just a few steps from a beautiful beach. There are several large hotels up and down the beach, each with its own outdoor restaurant and bar. This is a nice town to spend a few extra days either at the beginning or end of your week with us.

8. On the Beach at Playa del Carmen
Spending a day on the beach is always a must do in your vacation. The water is warm and the sand doen't get real hot. There are several large hotels up and down the beach, each with its own outdoor restaurant and bar.
