As a year round instructional fly fishing service located just 40 minutes North of Seattle - Dickson Fly fishing has specialized in fly fishing steelhead, salmon and trout since the mid eighties, Mike and Dennis have helped both novice and experienced anglers bring NW fish to the fly. We teach traditional methods with spey, switch and single handed rods. Most of the local fishing is an easy commute from Seattle ranging from 1/2 hour to 2 hours max.

Early morning instruction: The Dickson's believe in a personal hands on approach. They have not only developed their own custom steelhead flies including the "Cop Car", but even the revolutionary
Yancy multi-tip fly line.

Walk-in fishing or Floating the river, Mike and Dennis both use large rafts or drift boats with casting platforms as transportation. Fishing is generally done by wading each pool and mostly swing fishing.

From Alaska, the Caribbean, Grande Ronde River in Eastern Washington, to local trips. The Dickson calendar year takes Dennis and Mike to prime steelhead, salmon and saltwater fishing twelve months of the year. Their motto "We only want to be there when the fishing is the best". Can't always guarantee you catch a fish like this, but they can certainly make you a better steelhead fisher.

Daily Instructional fly fishing trips: One or two anglers: $350
Group rates: Three or more anglers: $150 angler

A 50% Deposit will be needed to hold your day. Please read the contract. You will need a fishing licence, chest waders, warm clothes and a lunch. All equipment and flies for day are or can be provided. Check out our online store at Streamsideflyshop.com for flies and equipment, if you order something we can bring it on your trip. If you need a rod just ask. We will usually float and wade fish through the day. Sometimes we will fish from the boat. A Itinerary is provided with more detailed info on equipment and meeting place/time. Any Questions just ask.

Monthly Fly fishing Schools: $150/ angler up to groups of six. We can do custom group trips if you have your own group.
Chest waders & licenses (except at private Lakes) are required.
Lunch is provided for schools. A 50% Deposit will be needed to hold your day. Please read the contract. You will need a fishing licence. We will usually float and wade fish through the day, some rivers are just walk-in fishing. Sometimes we will fish from the boat. Contract

As an angling client I agree that:

1) Confirmed dates are only held by a 50% deposit, for each angler.

2) I understand Dickson, Fly fishing will confirm the date availability and that only my deposit will hold my date(s). My check is refundable up to:
14 days for Washington trips*
* 45 days for Alaska, Grande Ronde Camp outs or out of Country expeditions.

3) Should, in the instructor's decision, the waters become unfishable, prior to the outing the angler has the full refund option of:
a) aborting the trip...the check is destroyed or returned by self addressed envelope
b) monies can become a deposit for a future agreed upon trip.

3) Should I organize a group outing. I am advised to have each member send their own deposit/ or I will collect payments from each member, before the excursion.(Trip or School). If I send a deposit for more anglers than myself, I am responsible for the each deposit, should that angler not attend if I am unable to find a replacement.
